The mysterious forest of RNT

Over the past several days we’ve been polishing up and experimenting with lots of little different bits of Road Not Taken. Trying out new behaviors and objects, fleshing out the details of the player’s career; that sort of thing. We also made the mysterious forest a bit more, well, mysterious. Enter the ghost child:

Nitpick: the hood of the character in the 2nd screenshot is cut off by the grid?

I think it’s meant to be that way, but yeah looks like a cut-off. Would help if the hood was slightly angled. Looking great!! Very interesting aesthetics going on here.

@David Good eye! In that screenshot, the avatar has his head tilted back, so the line on the top of his hood became parallel with the cells. This does cause a bit of a weird tangent in a couple of the character’s frames (this happened to be one), but I could easily curve that line a bit to avoid that. Thanks for the feedback, my friend.

I am so excited for this game. The concept sounds amazing and the art style is sooo good. I also love the music from the trailers. Is there going to be in-game music too? And are we by any chance going to see some gameplay? The trailers only showed the very basic mechanics of walking and moving objects. I’d really like to know more about the behaviors of some of the objects and creatures. But from what I can tell, it’s got some similarities with triple town.
