For many months now, we’ve been talking with the Spirit Crossing playtest community about the best ways for Spry Fox to financially support Spirit Crossing for hopefully decades to come. We’ve written multiple blog posts, hosted conversations on Discord and Reddit, and posted surveys as well.
With your help, we landed on a plan to charge $29.99 USD upfront for Spirit Crossing with adjusted (i.e. regionalized) pricing for other currencies, and to have an optional monthly membership plan to help us cover ongoing hosting, moderation, support and development costs. We’re calling that membership plan the “Cozy Club!”
The number one thing we heard from players, when soliciting feedback, was that they did NOT want any clothing or decor items to be exclusively available to Cozy Club members, so we designed that into the plan. The other thing we heard was that people didn’t want to feel like being a Cozy Club member was the only way to progress in the game, so we made sure that Cozy Club membership is always a nice-to-have in terms of progression; never a must-have.
Existing playtesters heading into launch with us won’t lose anything with the introduction of the Cozy Club; it simply contains some new perks, including:
- An (upgraded) weekly gift to claim! Non-members get a weekly gift, too!
- New feature: Fluffalo customization! We’ve added a few for non-members, too!
- Bonus slots per rotation in certain shops; nothing in these slots is ever exclusive.
- New Feature: outfit save slots! Non-members get a few of these, too!
- Bonus Shop deals and Errands
With your purchase of Spirit Crossing, all players will receive 30 free days of Cozy Club upfront that can be redeemed at any time. We want you to have a chance to try it out and see what you think before having to decide if you want to sign up.
If you try out the Cozy Club and want to keep going with it – or come back to it again later – there are a couple of options. You’ll be able to opt into a recurring membership that can be canceled at any time for $9.99 USD, or you can buy one-time passes in increments of 30 days at $10.99 USD. Again, these prices are regionalized for other currencies, based mainly on the default pricing recommendations from Steam.
You’ll also be able to gift time to friends and loved ones, if you’re in a position to do so and want to share the experience.
